Tech Tools

You’ve seen so-called ‘ergonomic’ keyboards before. This keyboard takes your expectations for comfort, usability, and customization and launches them into space.

The ZSA Moonlander breaks your concept of a keyboard in half, literally splitting the keyboard into two halves to give you a more relaxed posture because you can place the keyboard wherever you need it. Everything you need is now within reach, especially because your thumbs are now a more useful member of the typing team. Spread your shoulders, arms, and wrists out to let them breathe. No longer are you confined to the restrictive width of a standard keyboard, but your wings can freely fly in whatever orientation they desire. Typical keyboards force the hands close together, which can set the wrists at awkward angles that compress the median nerve contributing to carpal tunnel syndrome. By separating the keyboard, it allows you to remain in a neutral body posture, relaxing your shoulders, neck, wrists, and neck, freeing them of their strict confines to reach a posture that works best for you and prevent injury.

Speaking of freedom, this keyboard is fully customizable and modular. Are your fingers big, little, strong, weak, prone to strain? This keyboard is mechanical and lets you choose the size of keycaps you want and the switches you need for finger press strength. Everyone is different, and depending on your physical characteristics, you could be using tech that is way too big or small for your physical dimensions, which could lead to chronic pain or injury over time.

The final ergonomic solution this keyboard offers is that you can stop stretching your fingers all the way to space to hit all your keys. The ortho-linear or “columnar” layout means that the keys are all in a line, preventing the sideways stretch that can contribute to joint and wrist pain. They make it easier to reach above and below the home row, stopping your wrist and fingers from jumping into weird positions.

Sometimes it’s the little things that make a big difference. Have you thought about when you adjust the volume on your computer, you hold down the volume up/down button for an entire second, press the other button several times to compensate after you overshoot the right level, and maybe you have to hold down a function key while doing all that? Or instead, you click a tiny little volume icon on the corner of the screen, then click and drag another tiny little slider icon to adjust? Wouldn’t a physical knob make things much faster, simpler, and more usable?

Fortunately, you can easily add a physical volume knob to your computer! Many of them, such as the Vaydeer control knob, just plug in via USB and also give play, skip, and mute functions, and work out-of-the-box with both Windows and MacOS.  Just plug in and enjoy the fast volume adjustment!

I bought this camera as a gift for my daughter who recently became a big sister. I wanted to give her something that would not only enforce her independent self-expression but allow her to document the experience of our growing family from the perspective of a 3.5-year-old.

The design of this camera echoes the timeless style of the Polaroid brand shrunk down to nearly pocket size with a simple screen-free interface and a soft inviting form perfect for a toddler. These features, combined with the effortless point-and-shoot nature of the camera and the instant feedback she gets from the printed photos, made it a great first camera that is so easy a toddler can use it!

Additionally, one helpful accessory was the molded silicone cover that comes bundled with the “Mix & Match” set as it helps mitigate inevitable bumps and drops and dynamic nature of a child.

Home/Office Comfort

Lumbar support can’t be dismissed when you’re at the office.

A lumbar support cushion ensures that it’s easier to keep a better posture, with the hips, ears and shoulders kept in line. Sitting in an ideal posture stops a range of health conditions, including back pain, spinal dysfunction, rounded shoulders, joint degeneration, and poor core muscles.

Ergonomics at the office is very important, especially considering that many working hours are spent in front of a computer.

A good ergonomic setup means that your back is at a 90-degree angle from your thighs, and your knees are at a 90-degree angle with your feet flat on the floor. This is not always practical when some offices do not offer adjustable desks. Adjusting your chair to the right position as a mitigation may result in sitting at desk height but leave your feet dangling. Dangling feet can lead to stress on your hip flexors as well as tingling in the feet from circulation effects. These footrests are adjustable and allow you to prop up your feet to achieve a more comfortable and ergonomic setup without having to lower your chair.

I find myself reaching for mine all the time, it’s one of my favorite office accessories!

For the more outdoorsy individuals in your life, the Jade 43 Pack from one of Gregory’s more popular product lines is designed with the hiker in mind.

This pack can be used for day hikes, longer weekend hikes, or just toting around large everyday loads if needed. With its patented FreeFloat suspension system, the pack allows for increased ventilation between the bag and the back while also providing a comfortable and conformal fit to the natural curves of the spine via the dynamic, adjustable flex panels that are built into the pack. The bag also has a 3D-contructed hip belt designed to prevent hotspot development around the hips and lower back, helping to maximize comfort while moving. This pack also has a sophisticated load management system that helps to reduce overall impacts to the spine while active.

So, whether you’re someone who weekends or if you’re out for something more strenuous, this pack was designed with your comfort and safety in mind.

For those constantly on the go but worried about foot pain, the Superfeet line of insoles is a great choice.

Variable arch support alongside an orthotic shape designed to stabilize the foot and ankle on various terrain types makes this an excellent selection for an off-the-shelf footwear insert. Constructed out of a carbon fiber and polymer blend, these insoles have a deep heel cup that helps to disperse forces at the heel and prevent heel slip, as well as dual layers of comfort foam to reduce fatigue from repeated stresses on the foot and ankle. Superfeet insoles are rugged enough to help you take on the challenges of the outdoors but also help manage the environments encountered in everyday life.

Whether you’re out at a theme park or just getting errands done around the house, a baby carrier is essential for carrying your child or toddler in comfort and style.

The LÍLLÉbaby Complete All Seasons Ergonomic Carrier provides a versatile and adjustable carrying system that supports six positions, reducing the need for multiple products as the child grows — a cost-efficient and convenient solution. The lumbar support, wide padded straps, and balanced weight distribution address common pain points such as back and shoulder strain, showing consideration for long-term comfort and physical sustainability.

Overall, this adaptable carrier prioritizes comfort, safety, and convenience, allowing parents to keep their baby close, strengthening their natural bond.

For new moms, the number of items needed for your baby seems never-ending!

The Calpak Convertible Stroller Caddy Crossbody achieves two things at once with its D-ring attachments, serving as a stylish, small diaper bag and a stroller caddy. The dual use of the product helps to reduce cognitive load for new parents, eliminating the need to carry two separate bags or fuss with swapping gear when the situation changes (walking vs pushing the stroller). It has two insulated bottle pockets, which help maintain the temperature of baby bottles, and the expandable sides provide extra capacity to carry more items (diapers, snacks, wipes) without constantly over-packing or needing a larger, bulkier bag. Multiple interior and exterior pockets help with organization, reducing the time and mental effort required to find specific items (like keys, phone, wipes) during busy outings.

For those parents looking to be efficient with both time and money, the Calpak Convertible Stroller Caddy Crossbody allows you to carry everything baby needs in one.

Audio Solutions

Hand-selected by Joshua Valdez

The world is loud, and our ears are fragile. A recent study published by the BMJ Global Health Journal found that as many as 1.35 billion people may be at risk of hearing loss due to unsafe audio levels at clubs and music venues worldwide. We all want to be able to hear the music when our favorite bands are playing, but how can we do so safely? Foam earplugs are cheap and effective at dampening noise levels but often muffle the sounds around us, making them useless for music lovers. This is where EarPeace comes in. The EarPeace Music Pro earplugs feature a filter that dampens the sound levels transmitted to your ear by 20 dB without a loss of clarity, allowing the full spectrum of sounds through so you can enjoy the music without worrying about damaging your ears.

EarPeace also produces earplugs designed for use at major sporting events, sleeping, and for motorcyclists.

Outlet Optimization

Hand-selected by Shelby Loftis

The EZ Outlet – Electrical Outlet Extender lets you fully utilize your wall outlets without compromising for plug space! This extender fits behind furniture and in tight spaces, providing easy access to obstructed and hard-to-reach outlets.

With an adjustable extension arm (22”-34”) and 180-degree rotating plug base, you won’t have to worry about bent wires or cramped hands when plugging in your devices. In addition to the two standard AV outlets, USB-A and USB-C ports are located on the side for versatile charging along with a convenient built-in phone ledge.

This product is perfect for someone looking to effortlessly optimize their space for increased ease of accessibility without messy extension of cords or risk of injury due to restricted or strained access points.
