Technical and Business Assistance (TABA)

What is TABA?

The Technical and Business Assistance (TABA) provides an opportunity for small businesses that have been awarded a SBIR or STTR program to receive additional funding over and above the SBIR/STTR grant to use towards commercialization of their innovation. This additional funding can be provided directly to the SBIR/STTR awardees to contract with their own vendors and consultants for commercialization purposes. Sophic has extensive experience in helping companies bring their technologies to market by first understanding the needs of the market and then making sure that the technology meets the needs of their users safely and effectively.

SBIR/STTR awardees can use their TABA funding for a variety of services, including, but not limited to:

  • Assistance with Market Research
  • Market Validation
  • Development of Regulatory Plans
  • Minimizing Technical Risks
  • Risk Analysis
