Greg Thackston
Operations & Contracts Manager
Greg Thackston joined the Sophic team as our Operations and Contracts Manager in Septmeber, 2026. He is an operations and contracting professional with more than ten years of progressive leadership experience in federal prime contracting, facilities engineering, and organizational development. As the Operations Manager of a high performing Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business federal prime contractor headquartered in Houston, TX, Greg built and scaled a multi-discipline federal contract portfolio driving approximately 800% growth in peak annual federal contract obligations across 24 states and Washington D.C. His federal performance spans the Department of Veteran Affairs, National Aeronautics and Space Administration, U.S. Department of War (Defense) installations, and institutional clients, supporting their engineered and mechanical systems, commercial construction, and facilities management.
Greg holds an M.S. in Engineering Management from the George Washington University School of Engineering and Applied Science in Washington, D.C. and a B.A. in Applied Sociology with a Business Administration minor from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, LA. Greg is excited to join and support the Sophic team by maintaining exceptional on-time deliverable performance and measurable growth through disciplined contract execution and strategic business development.
