VR/AR Lab Technician Internship – Fall 2026
Sophic Synergistics, LLC
Our VR/AR Lab Technician internship provides hands-on experience supporting advanced virtual and augmented reality applications across aerospace, medical, and technology projects. Interns work directly in the VR lab assisting with setup, operation, and maintenance of headsets, tracking systems, high-performance PCs, and motion-capture equipment. The role includes preparing virtual environments, supporting Human Factors (HF) evaluations, managing lab hardware and inventory, troubleshooting technical issues, and assisting with rapid prototyping and basic 3D asset preparation.
Interns will also support motion-capture sessions using optical and IMU-based systems, assist with real-time human motion analysis, and help process captured data for use in digital human models and simulations. Additional tasks may include contributing to Unreal Engine environments, assisting with basic scripting or tool development, and supporting the creation and optimization of volumetric or animated assets for accurate, real-time playback.
Interns gain practical experience working alongside human factors engineers and project teams while contributing to real client deliverables and immersive design efforts.
